Plant kinetics in a dance solo by Àngels Margarit, who dances and makes images dance beyond her own body. This project is a work in progress, currently in two parts, that emerged as a result of an encounter between Ángels Margarit and Núria Font and their search for an organic relationship, for a performing space where gesture, images, light and sound can enter into dialogue. The project was developed within the Interactive Dance Lab, where an interactive system was designed specifically for the piece.
Images of plantations of black poplars and elms in Catalonia's Baix Empordà region create a curious landscape of ordered nature, a "domesticated" forest. Dance, movement and gesture confront this artificial world and seek to enter a kind of "tree state" through organic minimalism.
